Post 6: Don’tcha just love to be silly ever now and again (and maybe even more). For me this page reminds me that life is serious enough and that laughing or doing something silly breaks up all that seriousness.

For this last page I stuck with my circle stencil again. My favorite kind of clouds are those randomly cut from pieces of book paper. A little shading of color, some black pen work and then white scribbles on top. I also love adding little banners. They are just so cheery. For this one I cut little bits of this and that, used a pen to define everything and then added a bit of Glossy Accents for shine.

I hope you all find what makes you happy and try to incorporate it daily.

Post 5: I love the crispness of winter. For me it evokes the winding down of the year, being inside a little more, snuggling under blankets and fires in the fireplace. I know it’s a bit early to be thinking about, but it does make me happy.

Post 4: Summer’s can be hot – and I don’t like hot. :) But there’s nothing better than a cool breeze wafting through the leaves on the trees, bringing the smell of fresh cut grass or just the stirring of all that is summer. It makes me so happy.

Post 3: California hasn’t had any real rain in so long that I’d almost wondered what it looked like. But this year we’ve gotten LOTS!

I once again applied gesso to the entire page and started building my background with layers. The little kids and their pets are actually from Christmas stamps. I stamped and cut them out and then added them to the windows. The droplets were made Glossy Accents and then I painted over them a bit with acrylic paint.

Post 2: As many of you know I’m an animal person. With four cats and three dogs my house is full!

I once again applied gesso to the entire page and started building my background with layers. I love washi tape and used it to create the flag banner and there are little bits in the background. The letters I stamped, they were a set I picked up at Michaels. Once everything was completely dry I added a little bit of pen work with a black marker. My pets make me very happy.

Post 1: For the next 6 posts I’ll be sharing a little book project. I was at the craft store quite awhile back and I don’t know about you but sometimes I purchase something because I love it and then it takes awhile to figure out what I’m going to do. Well such was the case with this little house book. I pulled it out a number of times but nothing came to me.

And then poof. I applied gesso to the entire page and started building my background with layers. I always have scraps of this and that and so I decided to use a few. The letters were cut with a die and the faint white doilies were rub-ons. Once everything was completely dry I added a little bit of pen work with a black marker. Home makes me very happy.

I included this page because, well, Santa is happy. Everything is done and he is happy.

The alphabet is by Purple Onion Designs. The numbers were a die from Sizzix, as was the garland along the top.

Holly - Christmas book - Page 5 - In the air

It’s a little chilly out there! For this page I actually created the background and then glued doilies  down for the snowy hills. I then added some snow texture which ended up covering most of them.

Holly - Christmas book - Page 4 - Home for Holidays

For page 4 I decided to try something a little different. I knew I wanted the sleigh to stand out more, so I actually stamped the winter neighborhood on tissue paper and then put it on the background. I added a little bit of color on the houses and stamped some silver snowflakes.

For the finishing touch I added some snow texture under the sleigh and some bling on the “Home for Holidays” sentiment.
