Long before Twitter and Tweeting there were the original Tweeters..birds.  Pam’s created a project showcasing a new home specially made for Crackers and Keebler. She started out with an A2 shaped card (4 ¼ ” x 5 ½ ”) and went from there. The basic shapes are pretty simple…the house, a circle, the roof – which looks like a humongous photo corner. I think her orange accent throughout (the birds, the saying and even the embroidery floss) really add a great little pop of color.

Today’s mighty oak

If you want something to pop, using black and white is the answer because there is nothing higher in contrast.

Well this card by Kriss really pops! And the borders created by layering cardstock frame the card quite nicely.

Here’s what Kriss did…

  1. Stamp Tree Hill and Today’s Mighty Oak with Watermark Resist Ink on 4 ¼” x 5 ¼” black cardstock and emboss with Seafoam White Embossing Powder.
  2. Mount to 4 ½” x 5 ½” white cardstock.
  3. Mount to 4 ¾” x 5 ¾” black cardstock.
  4. Mount to 5” x 6” top-folded white card.

Flower pot

Judy got very creative with the use of this stamp. It’s actually a single bunch of lantana (the flowers that butterflies like), but she made it into a flowering tree.

I love that in the first card she actually stamped additional flowers and used them to fill in around the edge of the pot, and the second card she swapped out the flowers for some leaves. Sometimes when I draw images, such as this one, I’m thinking one thing but I love to see it when people use them and think of another thing.

I think you could use this card for all types of occasions. Great job Judy!

Discover

A card to welcome all the discovery that can be made when warm weather arrives! The main image, colored with Copics, is Stuart the bug-ologist. He is standing on a layer of stamped stones, with some of the stones cut out and attached with foam squares for a more 3D effect. Joining him on this outdoor adventure is Aunt Annie & Jr Ant. Can you spot them? Any outdoor adventure isn’t complete without a cold drink for refreshment, so the bottled water image was fun to place just perfectly among the stone pile.

I just love the use of the black Dymo tape for the word “Discover” and the little frog that seems to have parked himself on Stuart’s head! Such a fun summer card!

Just keep paddling

Georgia says sometimes she thinks she’s paddling upstream… and if she keeps going, she’ll get there…wherever there may be.

This card is so vibrant with the orange background against the teal blue water. I love how she picked those up when coloring as well. Looks like she tore the paper for the water and layered the stamp in between. Very clever and oh so cute!

Birthday Wishes with Fairy Blossom

Thao found some Martha Stewart flower embellishment stickers that were just perfect! She stamped Fairy Blossom and colored her in using Copic markers. She added a little shimmer to her wings – I think that’s a must for fairies, don’t you. :) She then stuck on the flowers so that it seemed like they were just too fragrant for Fairy Blossom to resist. Absolutely lovely.

Family history journals

For the longest time Kriss says she’s been wanting to do a genealogy search but has just never gotten around to it. NBC has launched a show, “Who Do You Think You Are?” in which each episode takes viewers on an emotional and personal quest into some of America’s best-known celebrities family history.

Well this was just the jump start she needed and what better way to start things off then by creating some wonderful journals to keep all her findings in.

She says she spent a couple weeks laying the foundation for each family tree and it’s been fascinating! Although she did note that she sure hopes her relatives took root and became mighty oak trees…and just didn’t remain a bunch of nuts like the rubber stamp says. Ha ha. :)

Wonderful job Kriss! I’m sure you’ll have a great time filling these up!

Instructions: COMPOSITION BOOK

  1. Cover front and back covers of composition book with solid and pattern papers.
  2. Stamp Tree Hill on cream cardstock, color, trim to 4” x 4 ½”, and ink edges with black ink. Attach to 4 ½” x 5 ¼” pattern paper panel and attach to front of book.
  3. Stamp Today’s Mighty Oak with black ink on cream cardstock and trim to size. Attach to black cardstock allowing room at the bottom to border punch. Punch border with Lacy Days of Summer, and attach to book.
  4. Cut a 1 ½ ” square from black cardstock and then cut in half on the diagonal. Use Lacy Days of Summer Border Punch and punch edge. Use these as corner embellishments and attach one to the lower left corner of the book and the other to the upper right corner of the stamped image panel.

Instructions: JOURNAL

  1. Cut pattern paper to fit pocket on front of journal.
  2. Stamp Summer Neighborhood with black ink on cream cardstock.
  3. Circle cut out one of the houses and cut out a coordinating scallop circle from black cardstock.
  4. Color house and adhere to black scallop circle. Attach to pattern paper panel and slip into to cover’s front pocket.
