Birthday book
Filed Under Birthday, DT: Kelly C., Dogs, Journal | 3 Comments
Kelly sent in this Birthday Book project! What a great idea because trying to keep track of all the birthdays and anniversaries gets to be a bit taxing. Now you can have your own little book to do just that!
The cover is just so cute with Cupcake the dog and his wild hat. She sewed baker’s twine into the hat and fluffed the ends. I also love the big black dot that really shows off the main image and then she carried it through the thought bubble. She said she printed the tabs and sentiment on her computer.

She didn’t just do the outside but created little month tabs and added a cute little ribbon so you could keep your place.

Ever had one of those…
Filed Under DT: Meg C., Journal | 3 Comments
Meg sent in this card and I love what she did with the sentiment – crossing out “days” and then “weeks” and adding in “months”. Sometimes it certainly feels that way!
Here’s what Meg did:
1. Kitty Noodles was stamped in brown, then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used Wild Honey Distress Ink and an aqua painter to paint him, and carefully cut him out (hint: put some clear packing tape on the back before cutting out those thin little whiskers).
2. I printed the sentiment on my computer, doing a couple test drafts and using my stamp-a-ma-jig to check the placement of the Journal Blotch Circle before printing on the kraft paper and stamping the blotch.
3. I distress the edges of all the paper, and attached everything with my sewing machine and tim holtz’s tiny attacher.
