kelly-snowman-assembledA wonderful Valentine’s card from Kelly. This little snowman is so cute holding a little “be my valentine” banner. Kelly does such a great job with embellishments – from the snowflakes and hearts to the little string holding the banner flags.

On a little side note, there’s a song titled “I Melt with You”. The version I love was actually on a GMC Acadia car commercial and was done by Nouvelle Vague. I told my husband I wanted the car just because of the commercial – good grief, talk about advertising at it’s best. Oh, I couldn’t afford the car, but I could afford the song on iTunes. :)

heike-cloud9-smHeike created another fun card. She thought that Baxter the dog looked like he could jump from cloud to cloud to cloud. I love her color choice – the peachy sky and background. The added touch of the fluffy felt clouds really do make it seem like he’s bouncing along in the sky.

cathrine-boxes-sm Cathrine is at it again, this time she’s created these cute little boxes.

She started with 3 inch clear boxes and embellished them not only on the outside but also inside as well – with CANDY!

I just love the bright, cheery colors and the way she colored the dog just makes him pop off the box. These would be such a wonderful treat to receive!

The month of February is all about Valentines and here’s a darn cute project from Kelly. She covered an Altoid-like tin. The little stamp she used is actually a Christmas stamp, but she covered up the “to Santa” and wrote “My True Love”. She added the cute little hearts and embossed polka-dot background.

And if that wasn’t enough, when you open the tin up there are coupons inside.

Too cute! Makes me want to go out and buy some Altoids just so I can have the tin!

heike-gofroggie-smA card full of love from Heike I. in Germany.

While Valentines is certainly the next big card day you could make this for anytime. So many times I think hearts=pink or red, but clearly I need to rethink that. :) I love the unexpected colors of turquoise and orange.

I also love all of the little details – the ribbon, the the greenery and the little orange hearts. Heike said she stamped the frog and then stamped it in reverse. The only way that I know how to do this is stamp the frog on something else and stamp that something else onto whatever it is you’re working on. A fun technique!

annie-love-smAll ya need is love…ok well maybe that and some cookies. :)

Annie sent in this card and I thought it was too cute – all the little hearts floating around a loveable bear. Annie, being the artist she is, drew the big red heart and then punched out the little ones. This card is sure to let someone know that you love them.

kriss-valentinecandy-sm Kriss agreed awhile back to be a guest designer – yeah!

With the thought of Valentines just around the corner she created 3 cards using stamps which were actually created with different holidays in mind.
Here is the first along with her instructions.

    1. Mount 3.75” x 5” pink cardstock panel to 4” x 5.25” red cardstock panel, and then mount to 4.25” x 5.5” white top-folded card.
    2. Stamp Candy Eatin’ Sister two times with black ink, color one of the entire images and just the sleeves and arms of the little boy of the other image with watercolor pencils and blend.
    3. Using red cardstock, cut out a heart slightly larger than the pumpkin, ink the edges with black ink and glue up-side-down on top of pumpkin of the image that has been completely colored. Cut out shirt sleeves and arms of second image and glue into place on complete image. Mount to card.
    4. Stamp Tip #25 with black ink on red cardstock and trim off the top portion (Halloween Tip #25) and around the other three edges. If needed, ink edges with black ink. Mount to card.
    5. Cut three layers of hearts with white, pink, and red cardstock pieces. Run middle heart through an embossing folder and stamp little heart with XOXO and black ink. Glue three heart layers together and mount to card.

jinah-youandmoi4-smJinah sent in a Valentine’s card featuring two lovable dogs. She said the big dog reminded her of a dog her cousin had…a St. Bernard.

It’s funny, when I drew this image I had a St. Bernard in mind, but now, around our house, we just adopted a Chihuahua from the animal shelter, and even though our dog Tucker isn’t a St. Bernard when he was a puppy he looked like one.

Here’s a detail view. Jinah actually drew the heart balloon. She cut everything out and mounted it on the card. I think it’s just adorable.
