Estella (Sandee’s Stamps) shared this awhile back. I thought it was so cute. I love how she titled all the books and added the little embellishments – especially the glittery pom-pom on little Drew the Hamsters hat. Thanks Estella!!

One-horse open sleigh
Filed Under DT: Amanda R., Holiday: Christmas | 1 Comment

Amanda sent this in awhile back. I just thought it was so pretty. The background layers are soft with that lovely pop of blue, her snowflake adds a wonderful wintery touch. And of course the stamp scene she built the card around, she colored so beautifully.
A little update about the design team – I will be sending out a message this week. I’m sorry for the delay, but the holidays have gotten the best of me and in between I’m trying to set up a new computer (the old one had just had it). SO I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN! :)
I hope you all are having a lovely December.

Dear Santa calendar page
Filed Under Great Customers, Holiday: Christmas | 1 Comment
Shari (Pickled Memories) created this WONDERFUL Christmas calendar page. Even though it’s only the first part of November you all know how time can fly. But I guess for little kids waiting in line it must c-r-a-w-l! I love the colors she used – my favorite Christmas colors pink, lime green and a splash of turquoise blue – what a great page to display for December. Thanks Shari!

The Warmth of the Season
Filed Under Holiday: Christmas, Holly | Leave a Comment
This time it’s a little glimpse into a window.
- Another Paper Source tag. I really like these tags because they are wide – card size. I created the side of a house using some distress ink and then adding little white broken lines.
- I stamped the main image on white cardstock and colored everything in using Copics.
- I die cut the window and added some texture with a roller stamp and distress ink.
- I die cut out the poinsettias with white cardstock and also a couple using the clear packing the die actually came in. I used distress ink (spun sugar) and tapped some pink on. Then I sprayed it all with Goosebumps spray (I’m really liking this stuff, can you tell). On the clear ones I used alcohol ink because I wanted just a little color.
- I used glue dots and liquid glue dots to put the tag together. I added a little bling to the flowers, some in the window and a few dots on the saying. I added some “snow” using Martha Stewart’s white texture (another one of my favorites now too).
I believe this will be the last tag that I have time for before Christmas. I hope you’ve enjoyed them. Stay tuned for the post announcing the new design team coming the first week in January.

Filed Under DT: Linda M., Holiday: Christmas | 3 Comments
Layers and stitching seem to follow Linda wherever she goes. I just love it!
She sent me this card, you may have seen it if you follow her blog, but it’s just too cute. What I really like is that even though there’s a LOT going on, layers, pattern and embellishments little Amanda doesn’t get lost. In fact I think one of the first things you see is those big white eyes.
I’m definitely going to be trying more layering in the new year. :)

Cheery Christmas Wishes
Filed Under Holiday: Christmas, Holly | 3 Comments
Tag time again. This time I knew I used the Tim Holtz lamp post, although I changed it a wee bit (trimmed off some bits).
- I’m loving the tags from Paper Source so I used another one for this project. I stamped snowflakes in the background using white paint.
- Next I cut out the white part of the background and glued it on the tag. I die cut the snowflakes on the bottom, glued them on and then trimmed.
- I sprayed it all with “Goosebumps”. You can see the clear globs in the background.
- I stamped the snowman on a white piece of cardstock and colored it in using Copic markers.
- I die cut the lamp post in brown cardstock. I then randomly stamped on it to give it a little texture. I cut out a separate piece of cardstock and colored it in yellow. I glued it behind so you could see light. Then I added some glossy accents for shine (just on the yellow part).
- I used a label die from Spellbinders and cut out the Cheery Wishes. I glued it on a larger piece of green cardstock and hand trimmed around it. I punched out some holly leaves and added those to the top.
- To finish the tag, I glue everything together, added a little decorative stitch (I just punched the holes and stitched through). I added some “snow” to the lamp post and saying using Martha Stewart’s white texture. I added some liquid pearl dots and some red “bling” and tied a piece of tulle to the top.

Christmas tags featuring little Sophie
Filed Under DT: Moon H., Holiday: Christmas | Leave a Comment
Moon sent me a picture of the cutest holiday tags she made using just one stamp – Sophie with her letter to Santa Clause in a simple oval frame with scallops.
She finished them off by tying each one with a little piece of ribbon. Just so very sweet indeed.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Filed Under Holiday: Christmas, Holly | 2 Comments
Here’s another tag. This time I knew I wanted to use a pinecone die that I got.
- I started with another tag (same as the Winter Wonderland tag) I got from Paper Source. I used a snowflake stencil. Once the background was dry I added some white lines with a pen. I also used a new spray I got called “Goosebumps”. You can see the clear globs in the background.
- I stamped the shoreline on a white piece of cardstock and colored it in using Copic markers. I used a punch on the edges for a scalloped look. I added a line by the scallops using a silver marker and some little white pearl dots along the top scallops. I also added some “snow” to the trees and ground using Martha Stewart’s white texture.
- I created the pine cone (I’ve included a YouTube video at the bottom). I added snow texture to this too.
- I stamped the saying in brown onto a piece of white cardstock and just trimmed around it.
- I put the tag together. This time I used hot glue to glue the pine cone a greenery on because it was a lot quicker than trying to hold it while regular glue dried.

In case you’re interested, here’s a YouTube video on how to use the pinecone die

Winter Wonderland
Filed Under Holiday: Christmas, Holly | 1 Comment
So here’s the next tag – Winter Wonderland.
I had found this tree die and wanted to build a tag around it.
- I started with a tag I got from Paper Source last year. It’s a lot wider than the Tim Holtz die I used in the last tag. I stamped the snow dots in the background.
- I cut out the trees using a white piece of cardstock. I glued it to the blue tag. I used some Distress ink to ink around the edges. I also used some white Distress Rock Candy Stickles to add some sparkle.
- I stamped the saying on a white piece of paper that I’d cut out using a Nestabilities label die. I glued it to the green piece of cardstock and then trimmed it by hand. I added a line of silver glitter around the white part of the tag.
- I stamped out the penguins and watercolored them in. I cut them out.
- I put the tag together using some dimensional dots. I cut out some snowflakes (a Memory Box die) and placed them randomly around the tag. I added some bling and a tulle ribbon.

Santa, I can explain
Filed Under Holiday: Christmas, Holly | 2 Comments
I don’t know about you but I’ve been following Tim Holtz – 12 tags of Christmas. The tags are just so inspiring! Anyway, I thought I’d do some of my own. I don’t know if I’ll get a few at least. :)
So this is the first one. I’ve seen this saying before and I’ll be making it into a stamp next year because, darn it, who has the time to stamp out tons of words these days!
I thought little Abagail’s plate looked like it could have contained cookies that were meant for Santa – hence the saying.
- I started by cutting out a green tag and then used a dot stencil to add some interest to the background.
- I cut out the front tag using a Memory Box die and then stamped the tag and saying.
- Next came the rosette (you have to be careful when cutting this out because the textured cardstock came apart when I did the fan fold (you can see on the right size of the rosette).
- I stamped Abagail twice. Once is the main image, the next one I just used the plate. I used glue dots so when you look at it from the side it looks like she’s holding the plate out.
- I put the tag together and added some sparkle embellishments and a hot pink tulle ribbon.

Merry Everything
Filed Under DT: Annie F., Holiday: Christmas | 1 Comment

Isn’t this cute! Can’t you just see the ornaments hanging from your Christmas tree?
Annie came up with this great idea. She used a punch and then colored in the ornaments using Copic markers. She drew the tree branches so she could make them whatever length she needed.
