Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? Will he?! I guess we all just have to wait and see.

To make the card she stamped Granny Gertz onto the mustard colored cardstock so as not to lose her flying hair pins. Then stamped her again on white cardstock, colored with watercolors, cut her out and attached the image to the card with glue dots.

Celine created the “Happy Groundhog Day” badge in Inkscape and drew the little groundhog in the center with his shadow. It was then cut out and layered it on top of a piece of red cardstock. Scrapbooking paper with a floral motif was layered on top of a solid brown stripe, cut and glued down.

Granny’s comment was printed, cut out and added to the card along with the badge.

Well, as sometimes happens unless pictures and actual product skews are involved we don’t always get what we hoped for.

She got this mailbox, one that was “copperesque” (as in a coppery front insert). Well, as a creative person I know, sometimes we just can’t leave things alone, so she decided to change it.

This is what she came up with:

Isn’t this the cutest darn thing!! She wrote “Wouldn’t it be fun to change the scene throughout the year?”, I think so!

She says the scene is mounted on mat board and the whole thing is coated with UV protectant sealer. Her porch is very protected – so hopefully it will hold up.

She wonders if the mailman will notice….
I say she should wonder if she’ll get any mail. If I were the postman at her house I’d be so busy looking at the mailbox I’d forget to deliver it!

While Valentines is certainly the next big card day you could make this for anytime. So many times I think hearts=pink or red, but clearly I need to rethink that. :) I love the unexpected colors of turquoise and orange.

I also love all of the little details – the ribbon, the the greenery and the little orange hearts. Heike said she stamped the frog and then stamped it in reverse. The only way that I know how to do this is stamp the frog on something else and stamp that something else onto whatever it is you’re working on. A fun technique!

Another Paper Source tag. I really like these tags because they are wide – card size. I created the side of a house using some distress ink and then adding little white broken lines.

I stamped the main image on white cardstock and colored everything in using Copics.

I die cut the window and added some texture with a roller stamp and distress ink.

I die cut out the poinsettias with white cardstock and also a couple using the clear packing the die actually came in. I used distress ink (spun sugar) and tapped some pink on. Then I sprayed it all with Goosebumps spray (I’m really liking this stuff, can you tell). On the clear ones I used alcohol ink because I wanted just a little color.

I used glue dots and liquid glue dots to put the tag together. I added a little bling to the flowers, some in the window and a few dots on the saying. I added some “snow” using Martha Stewart’s white texture (another one of my favorites now too).

I believe this will be the last tag that I have time for before Christmas. I hope you’ve enjoyed them. Stay tuned for the post announcing the new design team coming the first week in January.
