I really love this sentiment. Even if the whole world goes crazy at times, your dog doesn’t care. They just know that you’re the best person ever.

I think Annie captured a lovely moment – a happy dog and all those wonderful flowers. How can you be anything but cheery with this card.

She said that she was inspired by a class she took using Adirondack paint dabbers. I myself just got a bunch of them and am dabbing anything that holds still! :)

The background is painted using a dabber on the stamp and then it was stamped on painted cardstock. The button is also painted (no more searching for the right one – just paint it). She added some Glimmer Glaze (Tattered Angels) to the flowers and the dog was colored in using Copics.

tapHi everyone.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here and for that I apologize. I have a few cards to post, as well as a product (or two) that I’ve found and really like.

This post is about a product more than the actual project. As many of you know I’m a quilter as well as a stamper. This project includes both. I purchased a package of Transfer Artist Paper (also known as TAP) by Lesley Riley and just love it!

What is it? It’s a paper you can stamp on, color on – I used Copic markers on one sample and watercolors on the other, write on or run directly through your inkjet printer, and then transfer to something else. I’ve tried it on fabric, but the package claims it will also work on quite a few other surfaces – I would think that anything that can take the heat of the iron would probably work.

Here are my two little projects:

holly-tap-cat-sm

  1. I stamped using Memento black ink and then colored the image in.
  2. I transferred the image onto fabric (following her instructions – they come with the paper).
  3. I knew I wanted to try adding some words so I printed these out on my computer – IN REVERSE! This is very important unless you like to read backwards.
  4. I sewed everything together. It could be a tiny wall-hanging or even a card if you wanted.

One of things that I was worried about was I had to iron my seams once I sewed them. I transferred the image and then went for it – I put the iron directly on the newly transferred image without the protective paper – I was being brave. It didn’t hurt it at all. Every time I added a small border I ironed right over everything. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Anyway, if you like trying new stuff you might want to check out Transfer Artist Paper.

meg-funinthesun-smMeg sent in this rather bubbly card. :) I thought it was so much fun and certainly fit’s Scooter (the dog) perfectly.

According to Meg the bubbles were a cinch! Here’s what she did…

1. I stamped Scooter ’s Day at the Pool on A Muse Ocean paper, then stamped him again on white paper, colored him with copics, cut him out, then added some Glossy Effects to his fins and snorkel mask.
2. I used nestabilities and a good ol’ hole punch to cut out the bubbles.
3. I popped Scooter and the sentiment up on foam tape, then the other larger circles are popped up on two layers of foam tape.

holly-skylimit-smI was out in my garage making stamps and in between made this little card. I wanted to use a little set of cloud dies I’d recently gotten. I think they are just too cute and Bunny the dog looking up at them made the perfect combination.

What a day for sunshine! Jinah sent in this wonderful card complete with puffy felt clouds!

Here’s a close up of the detail. I love her clever use of different colored string to create the rainbow. An anytime card when you’d just like to send someone some happy, sunny thoughts.

annie-goodday-smAnnie made this cute little card – a nice “just because”, don’t you think.

Pitter dog’s tail wags as he eyes the little inchworm Annie drew. I think her choice of muted colors is very nice and the polka dot ribbon adds just the right finishing touch.

Meg created this too cute card! She said that it’s taken up permanent residence on her desk because a paper piece Callie (dog) makes any day brighter. I agree!

Here’s what Meg did:

  1. I printed out the quote using Love Ya Like a Sister font onto Echo Park “A Walk in the Park” paper and cut it out.
  2. I adhered-some directly to the card, some with popdots, and “is not” with multiple layers of popdots.
  3. I stamped Miss Callie twice onto the same yellow patterned paper, cutting out her body from one and her head from the other, then more popdots!
  4. I added some sewing around the edge because why not? (which she says is her new stamping room motto)

jinah-candles1Another oh so sweet project by Jinah. She took little tea light candles and used the toy stamps to decorate them.

She said she first stamped the images onto tissue paper and then colored them in using her Copic markers. She then cut them out and put them on the candles and used a heat tool to melt the candle a tiny bit.

wanda-forthebraveWanda sent in this great card featuring the kids of Maple Lane. As if it wasn’t festive enough with the red, white and blue color scheme – she threw in those great yellow stars with button centers. I also love the paper punch she chose, it makes it look like a decorated bandstand to me.wanda-forthebrave-detail2

linda-puppylove-smAnd they call it puppy looooove. I think Linda found her inspiration from the 1970’s teenage heart-throb Donnie Osmond. :)

This card is so cute with all of it’s layers of color and pattern. (And I think those yummy cupcakes to the right are making my mouth water).

linda-bigdog-smWas that a can opener Sparky heard? Hmmm…

Linda’s card is so cute. She used a recipe theme to start with and layered the perfect papers. I love the stitching detail and the black scallop circle behind her focus circle really sets it apart from the card.

jinah-youandmoi4-smJinah sent in a Valentine’s card featuring two lovable dogs. She said the big dog reminded her of a dog her cousin had…a St. Bernard.

It’s funny, when I drew this image I had a St. Bernard in mind, but now, around our house, we just adopted a Chihuahua from the animal shelter, and even though our dog Tucker isn’t a St. Bernard when he was a puppy he looked like one.

Here’s a detail view. Jinah actually drew the heart balloon. She cut everything out and mounted it on the card. I think it’s just adorable.

meg-dog-smMeg actually sent this card to me in the mail! I was so excited when I opened it up. I love the 3-D dog and can’t wait to try the technique. AND best of all you don’t need those silly glasses like you do at the movies.
1. Fargo Fradey was stamped three times onto Papertrey Ink’s Harvest Gold. I added some shading with Copic Y21, and used prismacolor pencils on his eyes, nose, and tongue. Then I cut him out in layers (his back legs and tail; his body and front legs; and his head) and attached using foam tape.
2. I made a spring for him to bounce off the page with by wrapping a piece of wire around a pencil about eight times, then used 3-D glue dots to embed each end of the wire and attach to the card and to Fargo.
3. The patterned paper is Stampin’ Up (discontinued) Washington Apple. I stamped the sentiment using Stampin’ Up’s Bashful Blue, and attached it with a pop-dot.

winterbook-full-smI worked on this for quite some time and FINALLY finished. I was inspired by a project that Cathrine over at Paper Garden Projects created last year (I believe).
winterbook1
I started with chipboard shapes and covered each with a different piece of paper. I added snow with some white molding paste and before it dried sprinkled it with glitter. For the ice on the skating pages I used Diamond glaze. I made all the backgrounds first and then added the little kids and such on top. It was a labor of love for sure.
