Hello!
Filed Under Bears, Cats, DT: Heike I., Dogs, Just because | 3 Comments
Wouldn’t you just love to receive this great big HELLO in the mail! I sure would. This was created by Heike.
She said that she used scraps of paper to make the background strips of blue, green and yellow. And then she printed out the word on her computer and cut out the letters. She added the critters popping out which I think are just so cute!

Hi everyone.
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here and for that I apologize. I have a few cards to post, as well as a product (or two) that I’ve found and really like.
This post is about a product more than the actual project. As many of you know I’m a quilter as well as a stamper. This project includes both. I purchased a package of Transfer Artist Paper (also known as TAP) by Lesley Riley and just love it!
What is it? It’s a paper you can stamp on, color on – I used Copic markers on one sample and watercolors on the other, write on or run directly through your inkjet printer, and then transfer to something else. I’ve tried it on fabric, but the package claims it will also work on quite a few other surfaces – I would think that anything that can take the heat of the iron would probably work.
Here are my two little projects:

- I stamped using Memento black ink and then colored the image in.
- I transferred the image onto fabric (following her instructions – they come with the paper).
- I knew I wanted to try adding some words so I printed these out on my computer – IN REVERSE! This is very important unless you like to read backwards.
- I sewed everything together. It could be a tiny wall-hanging or even a card if you wanted.
One of things that I was worried about was I had to iron my seams once I sewed them. I transferred the image and then went for it – I put the iron directly on the newly transferred image without the protective paper – I was being brave. It didn’t hurt it at all. Every time I added a small border I ironed right over everything. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Anyway, if you like trying new stuff you might want to check out Transfer Artist Paper.

Tea light candles
Filed Under Animals, Cats, DT: Jinah N., Dogs, Other projects | 3 Comments
Another oh so sweet project by Jinah. She took little tea light candles and used the toy stamps to decorate them.
She said she first stamped the images onto tissue paper and then colored them in using her Copic markers. She then cut them out and put them on the candles and used a heat tool to melt the candle a tiny bit.

Aren’t these the cutest! I don’t know if I could bring myself to actual light them!

For the Brave
Filed Under Bears, Cats, DT: Wanda G., Dogs, Holiday: 4th of July, People, Summer | Leave a Comment
Wanda sent in this great card featuring the kids of Maple Lane. As if it wasn’t festive enough with the red, white and blue color scheme – she threw in those great yellow stars with button centers. I also love the paper punch she chose, it makes it look like a decorated bandstand to me.

Hi there
Filed Under Animals, Cats, Just because | Leave a Comment
Christy over at ChristyGetsCrafty sent me a link to this card. It was so cute I asked her if I could post it here. She said yes – yeah!
I love her color choices – so cheery (but then I am quite partial to orange). :) I think it’s just such a sweet little “hi there” note that would make anyone’s mailbox smile.
Thanks for sharing Christy!

Taking a ride in a flying fish
Filed Under Cats, DT: Danielle K., People | 1 Comment
Danielle sent this in and I just loved it. The bold use of orange on the flying fish and her tone-on-tone polka dot paper is just wonderful. I like too that she added a touch of sparkle to the fish – makes it more magical. Although, I suppose one doesn’t see a bright orange propeller fish every day so how much more magical does it get! :) Wahooo!

The purrfect place for a nap
Filed Under Cats, DT: Danielle K. | 2 Comments
Danielle created this purrrfect little card – makes me want to curl up with a good book and a furry friend.
As always her colors are just wonderful. I’m wondering if she took her color inspiration from the background paper or if she happened to just find the ideal piece of paper after-that-fact. Either way it’s purrrfect.

Danielle sent in this very sweet card. I love the way she shaded behind the colored image – it just adds so much.
She said the ribbon is seam binding she sprayed with Glimmer Mist to coordinate with the patterned paper.

Too late for cake
Filed Under Birthday, Cats, DT: Annie F., Food, People | 3 Comments
So a little bit of a confession…this is my birthday week, and even though it’s already past mid week I’ll be posting a few birthday related cards.
The first one was sent in by Annie. Oh what yum I say. She stamped Penelope and kitty Percy and the word bubble…but she actually drew the cake! Isn’t it the cutest!

Wanda sent in this oh-so-happy little card. The colors she chose are so cheery and the butterfly punched border is just perfect. In the detail photo below you can see she added a wee bit of glitter to make the butterflies sparkle.

Just waiti’n
Filed Under Cats, DT: Georgia, Just because | 1 Comment
Georgia is at it again! I love the crispness of this card – it’s almost all black, white and red but then there’s just a hint of bright orange peeking out.
She said that she used a software program to create the fence. Kitty Werther was stamped and cut out, as were the flowers which are actually only part of a much bigger stamp. She layered everything so it’s dimensional – something I find I’m doing more and more of because of the cards the design team sends in. She used the polka dot ribbon and two matching red buttons.
Too cute! Hopefully Kitty won’t have to wait much longer!
