shari-abundanceShari sent this in and it’s just so lovely. Using just one stamp and oodles of embellishments this card is certainly an abundance of sweetness. I love her layers and sweet colors.

christy-journal-dontworry

Here’s another journal page from Christy. I agree – don’t worry, be happy! I love her doodle words and scallop.

Here’s how she did it:
Using a discarded book from the thrift store has made the perfect foundation for creating meaningful art journal layouts.  This layout began with a light coat of blue acrylic paint and a layer of green for a grassy base.  The images were stamped with black Memento ink and colored with watercolor crayons.  The wording was done by hand using a doodling technique.  The finished page captured perfectly a light, airy, happiness.

estella-milkandcookies2
Estella (Sandee’s Stamps) is at it again – I just love getting her emails. This time she’s used a stamp that was released as a Christmas stamp but the way she’s put this card together and the colors she’s chosen means it could be an “anytime” card. I just love the little scallops and the pop of blue she used. And how did she know I have a special place in my heart for orange kitties.=^..^=

kelly-tiny-tobyAnother cute project from Kelly. The wide-eyed kitty is so cute with all her embellishments. Cutting out the letters on little wonky squares and putting a small border makes them stand out. She kept the green theme going by finishing off the card with a nice green bow.

beate-birthdayA fun birthday card from the new design team – thank you Beate. I had to laugh when this came through – poor Frisky Fradey having to endure not only the pop of a jack-in-the-box but also Fluffy kitty’s singing!!! I love her use of browns and the little pop of green in the toy and ribbon.

kelly-milk-and-cookiesEven though this stamp was released in a Christmas supplement, I loved that Kelly rethought it and made it just an “anytime” card. She does such a great job with embellishments and coloring. I think sometimes we could all use more cookies and milk breaks with friends.

celine-curiosity-smThe children are away, and now it’s the cats’ turn to play! I’d sure say so. Celine sent in this cute kitty card and I think something is going to be derailed here shortly. =^..^=

She said she used a combination of watercolors, acrylics and Prismacolors to color this scene.  She also said that her stamp positioner got a real work-out, too.

sandy-sky-limit-smSandy has been busy making cards. This one features Penelope and Percy kitty. I’m wondering if she took her color cues from the paper she used – the lovely teal and green. The sky certainly is the limit and this card would be perfect for lots of occasions.

sandy-can-opener-smI think anyone who has a kitty can identify with this card. The shaking of the food container, the opening of a can and here they come!

Sandy sent in this card and I just love it. The background seems sophisticated – maybe its her choice of colors the green, tan and black but then there’s this crazy kitty on top of it all. Two paws up for sure!!

celine-fish-story-smPoor Mr. Wilkerson caught nothing more than a tiny snack for his faithful cat. I just love Celine’s sense of humor. I hope Mr. Wilkerson and kitty have a plan B for dinner!

Here’s what Celine did to create this card…
I stamped and masked Mr. Wilkerson first, then added the background images.  The speech balloon and sentiment were created in PhotoShop, and I drew the fishing pole by hand.  The scene was colored with Prismacolors.

amanda-hello-smAmanda does it again! Isn’t this cute?! I love all the layered papers in the background and the bow with the pawprint tag is just wonderful. I also really love the black framing around everything, it really brings importance to each layer.

kelly-awesome-smKelly sent in this cute little card – you’re awesome is right! I think using the little frame around the kitty is just purrfect! The unexpected color combination – mustard yellow, a pop of turquoise and light red is really nice. I love her little dots of gold on the tag and on kitty’s color. Cute!!

amanda-abundance-smThis card sent in by Amanda is all a-flutter with Springtime happiness! I love the way she colored the image in and the way she framed it with the green paper. Her embellishments are just fabulous – I never would think to add a bow that big but it’s just perfect!!

sandy-penelope-smSandy sent in the cutest birthday card! I love her layers of green and the fact that she used a big piece of ribbon behind the main image to give it some dimension. The colors she chose to color the main image are so bright and cheery – and love the dots on the fish! Finishing it off with the pop of orange was a terrific choice AND using just “hbd” instead of spelling everything out gives it that modern, texting touch.

celine-cat-thoughts-smMarmie kitty  reminded Celine of her beloved cat, Kalamazoo, who believed she was the center of the universe. Much like the cat depicted here, she was not a deep thinker, lived to be served, and enjoyed a long nap more than just about anything else.

She stamped the various elements onto different colors and textures of paper, then colored with Prismacolors where needed.  The window is actually a stamp with a bunch of kitties in the window that she cut off so that she could add snow falling outside. The thought balloon is a standard shape in PhotoShop Elements that was sized to fit the cat, then cut out and stamped.  The flooring is scrapbooking paper.  Images were cut out and arranged to fit on a standard 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 card and then glued down.  Celine added a cardstock border in sage to finish the piece.

Seeing her card brought back some lovely memories. When I drew this image originally my kitty Marmie was the inspiration. I found this photo of her…
