The letters on the background paper give this card lots of movement, and the little squares give it loads of texture. I love the accents of ribbons and little pearls – even one to top off the doggy’s party hat. Very cute indeed.

Another “Did someone say cake” card from Meg! This time it’s a frazzled Feather’s MacGee chicken – bwwwwaaaaak!

Here’s what Meg did:
The first is a fun clean-and-simple one with Feathers MacGee.
1. I used Papertrey Ink’s Sunshine Impression plate on Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold cardstock.
2. I cut out another piece of Harvest Gold using Nestabilities Labels 4 and stamped Mr MacGee onto it, and did some quick Copic coloring. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Danube Blue.
3. I added a Labels 4 frame from some old SU patterned paper, popped up on pop-dots.

Meg actually sent this card to me in the mail! I was so excited when I opened it up. I love the 3-D dog and can’t wait to try the technique. AND best of all you don’t need those silly glasses like you do at the movies.
1. Fargo Fradey was stamped three times onto Papertrey Ink’s Harvest Gold. I added some shading with Copic Y21, and used prismacolor pencils on his eyes, nose, and tongue. Then I cut him out in layers (his back legs and tail; his body and front legs; and his head) and attached using foam tape.
2. I made a spring for him to bounce off the page with by wrapping a piece of wire around a pencil about eight times, then used 3-D glue dots to embed each end of the wire and attach to the card and to Fargo.
3. The patterned paper is Stampin’ Up (discontinued) Washington Apple. I stamped the sentiment using Stampin’ Up’s Bashful Blue, and attached it with a pop-dot.

When I opened up this card that Meg sent in I just had to smile. You might not know but I’m a red-headed freckle-faced girl, so I immediately saw myself as a little girl with a big ol’ empty plate. :)

Here’s what Meg did:

1. Cut out banner using Papertrey Ink’s banner dies, adhered to card, and added stickers and buttons.
2. Stamped Abagail is Too Late for Cake onto Papertrey Ink’s Rustic Cream paper and colored with copics.  Stamped again onto patterned paper and cut out for her bow, dress, and shoes.
3. Stamped “Did Someone say Cake!?!” using Colorbox Rouge Chalk Ink.
4. Adhered sentiment, Abagail, and brackets using pop-dots.
The patterned paper and stickers are from Echo Park’s Life is Good collection.

So a little bit of a confession…this is my birthday week, and even though it’s already past mid week I’ll be posting a few birthday related cards.

The first one was sent in by Annie. Oh what yum I say. She stamped Penelope and kitty Percy and the word bubble…but she actually drew the cake! Isn’t it the cutest!

Wanda created this very cute birthday card. I love the circle and the scalloped one underneath – a really nice way to make an image stand out. That, and she actually cut the bear out and used thick tape behind him so he’s dimensional.

Thao’s ability of adding such sweetness through color is simply wonderful. I love the soft pink pig and that she went around the entire image with the faintest of blue markers. The background papers are very unexpected – pairing a plaid with a floral and just for fun throwing in what looks like sweater texture on the light blue.

This card is adorable with a capital “A”!
