Christy hand-crafed this journal using chipboard coasters – I think this is way more fun than using them for drinks!

The coasters were painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint and set aside to dry. The fence and Penny were stamped, colored with Copics, and cut out.  Once the coasters were dry the Pine Tree was stamped directly on the coaster that was being used for the front cover.  She attached the fence and sat little Penny just perfectly on the top.  The title was cut out of a magazine.

She says, “this will be the perfect summer journal for my daughter to record all her favorite camping memories.” I couldn’t agree more!

Long before Twitter and Tweeting there were the original Tweeters..birds.  Pam’s created a project showcasing a new home specially made for Crackers and Keebler. She started out with an A2 shaped card (4 ¼ ” x 5 ½ ”) and went from there. The basic shapes are pretty simple…the house, a circle, the roof – which looks like a humongous photo corner. I think her orange accent throughout (the birds, the saying and even the embroidery floss) really add a great little pop of color.

Judy created a very ribbiting card using the Go froggie go stamp. :)

The frog is stamped multiple times and colored in. I love the way he’s jumping off the page and the fact that she added the little dots – gives it a very playful look. She layered everything with plaids and solids and finished it off with three little brads and wonderful shiny ribbon.

Judy called this card “breakfast, lunch and dinner”. Oh my!

I love the fact that the fish swim outside the circle – very clever. Everything is nicely tied together with Judy’s use of dots – a big dot for the fish to swim in, the dot background and the purple polka dot ribbon – she even added tiny bubble dots with the fish.

Looks like Tarzan kitty is going to be lickin’ his chops very soon!

Thao’s ability of adding such sweetness through color is simply wonderful. I love the soft pink pig and that she went around the entire image with the faintest of blue markers. The background papers are very unexpected – pairing a plaid with a floral and just for fun throwing in what looks like sweater texture on the light blue.

This card is adorable with a capital “A”!

What a great project Kriss has sent in! Using the kids from Maple Lane she’s created a wonderful book. I just love the distressed stamp in the corner, her use of cork (something I’m certainly going to have to try) and all of the details – the flags, the brads – oh just everything!

1. Paint two 5 ½” x 8 ½” chipboard with red acrylic paint. Two to three layers may be needed to completely cover chipboard. Once dry, gently brush on snow paint with Ranger’s Acrylic Paint Dabber to soften red.
2. Using Watermark Resist ink, stamp flourish in upper right corner of front cover. Emboss with white embossing powder.
3. Cut cork with Keyholes Mover and Shape die (a label shape). Attach to lower right of front cover.
4. Stamp For the Brave with black ink on white cardstock. Color with watercolor pencils and blend. Trim to 3” x 5 ¼”.
5. Cut light blue cardstock to 1 ½” x 5 ¼” and punch bottom with Effervescence border punch. Attach to bottom of stamped image, and mount both to 4” x 5 ½” black cardstock. Attach to front cover.
6. Stamp saying of For the Brave with Watermark Resist on navy cardstock and emboss with white embossing powder. Cut strip close to top and bottom of saying, and attach to front cover with white brads.
7. Mask For the Brave to allow cat only to be inked. Ink image with Jet Black ink, remove masks, and stamp on white cardstock. Color with watercolor pencils and blend. Cut into circle shape. Layer on top of navy circle and red scallop circle. Attach to cork label with Pop Dots.
8. Stamp For the Brave with black ink on white cardstock again, this time for both the flags. Crease your cardstock back onto itself along the “stick” of the flag, and then cut out three sides of the flag; keeping the folded-section intact. Do this for both flags. Color with watercolor pencils and blend. Attach each flag to a decorative stick pin, by gluing the stick pin inside the folded flag. Insert flags into Pop Dots on back of scallop circle/cat.
9. Attach silver sticky-back dots to cork label.
10. Cut either white cardstock or notebook paper to 5 ½” x 8 ½” for the pages of your book. Place pages between covers and punch holes at the top with Bind-It-All. Bind book together with white owires.

Mandy is at it again! This is such a cute little boy’s card. I love the striped star burst behind the circle with Casey and Beebo. The embellishments she chose were just wonderful – especially the touch of the compass – ensuring that they’ll never lose their way! Great card!

Petuna is certainly in the birthday mood with her kitty balloon!

Judy created this card using both high and low tech skills. She printed the sentiment from her computer and then used a template and her trusty scissors to cut out the oval. She colored everything in with Copic markers – love the use of the shading. She edged the oval with aqua fluid chalk and doodled around it with a black marker. She added a string to the balloon so it wouldn’t float away. I guess this is one time that kitties and chickens are gettin’ along. :)

Judy ’s at it again, this time creating a cute card for baby. Ahhhh…

She says she started with a plain white card and layered hot pink cardstock and two coordinating pattern papers on top. She cut a pink strip for the middle and a slightly smaller white one and doodled around the edge using a marker. She stamped all the pull toys, colored them in and cut each one out. She adhered them to the back and drew in the little strings. She stamped and cut out Rosebud bear and glued her to the corner. The “Baby” was printed from her computer.

This card is so serene and lovely. Pam’s really outdone herself with her coloring technique.

She started this scene (this is actually just one stamp) by stamping the image and then coloring the water below the image.

Then she stamped the same image using a regular black ink (not StazOn) onto a clear acetate sheet. She immediately turned it over, ink side down, onto the water right below the main image – so that it looked like the shadow of the shoreline reflecting n the water.

After completely coloring the entire scene – she used Liquid Applique to put snow on the mountain top. But before she heated it up to puff it, sprinkled loose glitter on the wet Liquid Applique – so that it sparkles when it puffed up.
