Here’s a sweet little card you could send anytime just to say “Hi”. Alex made this and once again raided her father’s train set box of goodies. Below you can see them actually standing on a bit of sand. She also finished the card using some glitter spray. I just think it’s so very sweet.

Lynne Jardine - To the world

Lynne said, “I’ve always loved this sentiment, and simply adore the sweet little girl and dog.”

I really love what she did, not only with the wonderful sweet coloring but all the little details. She said that she colored it with her watercolor pencils and added a big of bling to the dog collar. She doodled a fun little border around the card (saying that she can’t draw a straight line so she usually breaks them up – what a grand idea). She used a little die cut heard border and added the little paw punch in the corner. Just soooooo sweet.

Alex Menzlewski Happy Cup

Here’s an incredible project from Alex. Have you the travel mugs you can customize? I think people usually put pictures in them, but look what Alex made! She stamped and colored the sweetest little scene, taking extra precaution she laminated it and then slipped it in the travel mug AND she actually sent it to me! I’m doing a happy dance and enjoying a hot cocoa. Good thing it has a lid, otherwise beverages and dancing about don’t usually go together. :)

She also sent me some candy called “White Teds” that were white marshmallow gummy bears with different flavors inside. I believe I need a case of these because they were YUMMY!White Teds

Thank you Alex!!!

Oh, and here’s some pictures of the mug put together.

She was Happy Lori Barnett Watermarked

Here’s a wonderfully happy card from Lori. I love the red and aqua. And using the hint of aqua in the background, framing the main image, really shows off Herbert’s white shirt. Sweet!

Lori writes:
Someone looks twitterpated! HA! Mildred and Herbert make the cutest couple, don’t you think?! Cracks me up just thinking about all the captions that could be used for this image. I used a sentiment stamps you might not think to use with it. The full stamp says “In her handbag was chocolate. She was happy.”  I just inked up the part of I wanted…and wallah! It works! That’s a great way to get more miles out of a sentiment stamp. Easy cheesy! The image is colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The hearts have glitter pen painted on, then topped with glossy accents. What a happy couple!

Diane Kaufman - sending love

Here’s a fun card for just about anytime from Diane Kaufman. She started with the perfect little fluffy cloud and sunshine paper for her background. Stamping little Penelope and kitty Percy she then cut them out – that’s a bit of cutting if I do say so myself. I love how she added a wee bit of sparkle to the flying fish. The little banner flying behind is just so sweet – topping it off with just a few clear drops was just perfect.

Lynne Jardine - in her handbag

Lynne sent in this oh so sweet card featuring a stamp she loves – Eloise with her secret stash of chocolate in her handbag. She paired Eloise with sweet little Daisy Mouse and said that “I reckon she’s hoping for her share!” I love the way she tied their dresses together using the same sweet pink and same shadows. She colored everything in with her watercolor pencils and then added a bit of Wink of Stella glitter to Eloise’s handbag and to the ribbons in their hats. I think the sweet green vine a big white flower with a pinch of gingham matching the background pieces was just perfect.

Even if the card didn’t tell us “F U N” it certainly still would be! Alex chose not to do a whole scene this time, just a little snipet of Bosley bear balancing perfectly on a fun colored ball. She colored everything in and added some great little white highlights. A little dab of yellow around the edges continues her theme of primary colors.

And would you believe she used some of her father’s model railroad train leaves so set the ball in. I do hope her dad didn’t miss them. :)

Donna West - Cuppla Love

Donna sent this in and said “This little card I created not just for the DT but I’m currently in a craft group that meets once a week to craft, it’s called The Crafty Hens!! Isn’t this just the perfect card for one of the “hens” in my group? I can’t wait to give it to someone on their next birthday!! I colored with my Copic Markers. The little chicken wire background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The burlap flowers I cut out from the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die. EEEEEK!!! I just love these hens!!!”

How perfect is this card for her little group. I love the way she colored the hens, giving their feather distinction. The background dirt they are sitting on is pretty darn amazing too – all with her Copics. I think she found the perfect embossing folder – the chicken wire background. Topping things off with little bits of red gingham makes the card just grand.

Diana Kaufman Lord Give Me Coffee

Look at this fun card sent in by Diane. I think most of us can relate at some point in our lives. I love that she took one stamp and really made it fabulous with the backgrounds she chose. She said that the outline shape of the stamp was just too cool to not stamp showcase it as the front of the card. She added a bit of gold glitz with some gold Stickles. And I believe a few foam squares were added to create dimension between all the layers.

Now how about a glass of wine. Anyone? :)

donna west - you look mah-velous

Donna has outdone herself again. I think she took her color queue from the background floral paper which is oh so pretty. I love the texture of the burlap and the dark teal paper slightly tilted. Her coloring and shading is just incredible. She topped everything off with the banner and sentiment and a little twine bow.

And if any of you live in or around Glendale, Arizona, Donna will be teaching classes at The Occassional Artist using this card.
