happy-leap-year

Hope you’re all having a great extra day this year! :)

heike-hello-sm Wouldn’t you just love to receive this great big HELLO in the mail! I sure would. This was created by Heike.

She said that she used scraps of paper to make the background strips of blue, green and yellow. And then she printed out the word on her computer and cut out the letters. She added the critters popping out which I think are just so cute!

annie-justanote-smToday I’m posting “Just a little note” from  Annie. I suppose like Hallmark says “when you care enough to send the very best”, say it with a cranky grandma and blah blah blah. Hee hee.

Annie said she colored everything in with Copics and used glossy accents on granny’s glasses. She also added a small rhinestone on the flower brooch on her sweater.

I also wanted to add a little note here, please forgive my tardiness! I had written a bunch of posts but saved them as drafts and never set them to publish – where was my mind! Hopefully it’s come back now.

holly-skylimit-smI was out in my garage making stamps and in between made this little card. I wanted to use a little set of cloud dies I’d recently gotten. I think they are just too cute and Bunny the dog looking up at them made the perfect combination.

Oh what a lovely card. Linda sent this in and can’t you just feel the warmth of the sun.

I think her use of dimension is just perfect. Oh how it’d be so nice to stand in front of that window. :)

annie-goodday-smAnnie made this cute little card – a nice “just because”, don’t you think.

Pitter dog’s tail wags as he eyes the little inchworm Annie drew. I think her choice of muted colors is very nice and the polka dot ribbon adds just the right finishing touch.

Meg created this too cute card! She said that it’s taken up permanent residence on her desk because a paper piece Callie (dog) makes any day brighter. I agree!

Here’s what Meg did:

  1. I printed out the quote using Love Ya Like a Sister font onto Echo Park “A Walk in the Park” paper and cut it out.
  2. I adhered-some directly to the card, some with popdots, and “is not” with multiple layers of popdots.
  3. I stamped Miss Callie twice onto the same yellow patterned paper, cutting out her body from one and her head from the other, then more popdots!
  4. I added some sewing around the edge because why not? (which she says is her new stamping room motto)

christygetscrafty-smChristy over at ChristyGetsCrafty sent me a link to this card. It was so cute I asked her if I could post it here. She said yes – yeah!

I love her color choices – so cheery (but then I am quite partial to orange). :) I think it’s just such a sweet little “hi there” note that would make anyone’s mailbox smile.

Thanks for sharing Christy!

wanda-helloWanda is back with another house card. Yeah! wanda-hello-detail2

This time she used the summer neighborhood stamp. I love the bright, colorful houses – don’t you? I know that many right now are probably wishing for a bit of summer sunshine and this card can sure help you imagine some. :)

I also wanted to say stay tuned in! On Saturday I’ll be doing a little post about and a quilt book giveaway, but for those who don’t quilt I’ll be showing a sample using paper and a little ink as well.

danielle-friend-smDanielle sent in this very sweet card. I love the way she shaded behind the colored image – it just adds so much.

She said the ribbon is seam binding she sprayed with Glimmer Mist to coordinate with the patterned paper.

annie-gottapee-smAnnie created this cute little card – I’m sure we can relate!

She stamped the windows, stairs, word bubble and little girl, but drew in the rest. She colored everything with Copic markers.

Wanda sent in this oh-so-happy little card. The colors she chose are so cheery and the butterfly punched border is just perfect. In the detail photo below you can see she added a wee bit of glitter to make the butterflies sparkle.

If you need a little something to send to someone “just because”, Kriss has created this wonderful card. Taking color clues from the center floral paper she found the perfect match of orange and lime green. What a wonderful idea to make someone’s day.

Here’s what Kriss did…

  1. Cover the front of a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white top-folded card with three coordinating pattern papers. Center section is 3” x 4 ¼” and the outside sections are 1 ¼” x 4 ½”.
  2. Wrap orange gingham ribbon around front of card and tie bow to left side.
  3. Stamp greeting with orange ink on manila cardstock and cut out with oval die. Cut out coordinating pattern paper with oval scallop die, mount both together and add to card with Pop Dots.
  4. Add stick pin. Glue rhinestone to center of flower with Glossy Accents.

Finished card size: 4.25” x 5.5”

Georgia created this little card wrapped up in gingham and twine and finished with a button.

Her color choices are so fresh – the green gingham bordered with the darker green, the browns and then her pops of color in the flowers. A delightful card for that special friend.

Georgia is at it again! I love the crispness of this card – it’s almost all black, white and red but then there’s just a hint of bright orange peeking out.

She said that she used a software program to create the fence. Kitty Werther was stamped and cut out, as were the flowers which are actually only part of a much bigger stamp. She layered everything so it’s dimensional – something I find I’m doing more and more of because of the cards the design team sends in. She used the polka dot ribbon and two matching red buttons.

Too cute! Hopefully Kitty won’t have to wait much longer!
