sandy-scooter-inspirationI saw the little yellow ball in the lower right corner and wonder if she was thinking of that when she picked out her embellishments – the teal, red and yellow dots under Scooter. It looks like her background is woven – maybe this is a way to use all those scraps. I love her framing with the dark paper, it really sets everything off. Adorable.

The sky is the limit

sandy-sky-limit-smSandy has been busy making cards. This one features Penelope and Percy kitty. I’m wondering if she took her color cues from the paper she used – the lovely teal and green. The sky certainly is the limit and this card would be perfect for lots of occasions.

sandy-can-opener-smI think anyone who has a kitty can identify with this card. The shaking of the food container, the opening of a can and here they come!

Sandy sent in this card and I just love it. The background seems sophisticated – maybe its her choice of colors the green, tan and black but then there’s this crazy kitty on top of it all. Two paws up for sure!!

Twinkle twinkle little star

sandy-looking-up-smI just love this card. Sandy simply outdid herself in creating it. She said it reminded her of when families are apart, they can look up at the sky and think of each other. And that’s exactly the memory it brought back for me. When I was little my parents divorced and we moved away from my dad. He told me that whenever the moon came out all I had to do was look up in the sky and know that he was thinking of me. It’s such a wonderful memory.

Sandy said she used fringe scissors (Martha Stewart) to create the grass – I really think I must have a pair of these now. She cut out the people and animals which I think adds such dimension to the card, that and the lovely little stars of course. Thank you Sandy.

sandy-penelope-smSandy sent in the cutest birthday card! I love her layers of green and the fact that she used a big piece of ribbon behind the main image to give it some dimension. The colors she chose to color the main image are so bright and cheery – and love the dots on the fish! Finishing it off with the pop of orange was a terrific choice AND using just “hbd” instead of spelling everything out gives it that modern, texting touch.

Happy Easter

sandy-happy-easter-smI must confess, I had to check my calendar today and realized that Easter is next weekend! That means not only the Easter Bunny but income taxes (for those in the U.S.) are not far behind! But lets not think of that last part right now, shall we.

Sandy sent in these Adorable (with a capital “A”) Easter cards. Using just one stamp – Flopsy with his egg, she created a whole set of cards. She used four different solid background colors, but they are cohesive because she carried the same stripe and polka dot throughout. I love that she colored all the eggs differently and colored Flopsy as both a brown bunny and a white fluffy one too. Cute cute cute!!

Love the beach

sandy-gwen Sandy created a cute little card that could be used for someone who loves the beach or is just hoping for a sunny day. She was actually on a cruise when she sent this in…I’m wondering if that had something to do with the theme. :)

I love her use of black to separate the different areas and set off the main image. The little “love” charm, pink bow and clear dots really add that special touch.

Party hat dog

The letters on the background paper give this card lots of movement, and the little squares give it loads of texture. I love the accents of ribbons and little pearls – even one to top off the doggy’s party hat. Very cute indeed.
