maria-delight-in-life-sm“Delight in life” is the perfect jumping off point for the this card. Rowley dog is enjoying the beautiful rainbow of color Maria created. Isn’t it just so happy! I love her rainbow and the addition of the little clear dots. She also added the little movement lines around all of his paws which makes it look like he’s really jumping for joy. Happy happy happy for sure!

maria-totheworld-smI love this image, so much so that I actually made it into a quilt. So when Maria ordered it to use in a sample I couldn’t wait to see what she’d do. I think it’s just lovely. The sweet colors she used to color in the image are bright but soft. Her choice of patterned pattern is just perfect too. The top one has sweet little vines of green running throughout and finishing it with a big green bow – who wouldn’t love to receive this in their mailbox.

maria-view-sm What a wonderful serene scene Maria sent in. I love her use of primary colors – the red in the light house and border, the blue of the water and pants, and then the yellow of course in the shirt and the hat.

She said she stamped Mr. Pattersville on cardstock and another to create a mask. She then stamped the lighthouse and created a mask for that as well. She ripped up a piece of Post-It Note to make the beach area and used Distress Inks and a dauber to create the sand. She added some white gel pen to create the waves and the water’s edge. For the clouds, she masked everything and used a cloud template and Distress Inks again.

She colored everything with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol (an odorless mineral spirit), added a rhinestone to the lighthouse light and a few more for interest.
