leigh-crumbsandfarleyIf you follow Leigh’s blog or this blog on Facebook, you probably saw this card before, but it was so cute I wanted to post it here for all who may not have seen it.

Leigh does an amazing job of layering. The color combination she chose is just lovely and unexpected. Yellow and gray and not two colors I think of together, but after seeing this, wow! Even though there is pattern all over the place its subtle enough that the main image stands out. She continued the color scheme with Crumbs (mouse) and Farley (kitty). I would never have thought to color the grass gray, but traditional green would have taken away from the sweetness. Lovely.

If you follow this blog on Facebook you may have already seen a few cards by the very talented Leigh O’Brien. I’ll be posting them again here, so please don’t fret, you certainly won’t miss out on her work.

For this card, she says that technically it’s still Winter, although the weather sometimes doesn’t feel like it. :)

Leigh has such an eye for putting things together – adding layers, fun embellishments, a bit of stitching and sparkly glitter. She started with a Spellbinders oval die and stamped Sarah, Nicky and Otto inside. She used her Copics to airbrush the clouds and color everything in. The glittery snow is Dazzling Diamonds – oh what girl wouldn’t want those! The other die cuts are by Cat’s Pajamas and they sure are cute.
