donna west - on the road again

Here’s a wonderful card from Donna. This is actually a Christmas stamp – there’s a tree that usually sits on top of the family car, but Donna loves the image so much she wanted to use it for another season. She’s doing a vacation theme challenge and just cut off the Christmas tree and blacked out the license plate so now this cute family is off to enjoy nature and the mountains for their vacation. Just love it!

Donna West - for a sweet friend

For this cute card Donna tried something new. I think it worked fabulously, don’t you.

Here’s what she said:
Using my Copic markers I tried to give this darling dog some texture to his fur. I think it turned out pretty good! I used craft cardstock for my card base and some fun Spring paper. I cut a large green banner for the background of the stamped image. Tied a little yellow twine and added a couple of pearls. Love it! Maybe ice cream isn’t a good share for your doggy but, mmmm….ice cream!!!! hehehe!

Donna West - Happy Birthday

Here’s a wonderful little birthday card from Donna. I just love the neutral background of dots and stripes. She did a wonderful job coloring matching the dog to the background and then making the kitty pop just a bit more with a darker color. I love all the finishing details too – the scallop edges, the stitching dots and the little piece of twine.

Donna West Thanks bear

Today I’m showing a fun little thank you card that Donna made. I love the way she’s colored little Benjamin bear. Adding the little bit of yellow shading and the tan on the bottom really looks wonderful! All her embellishments are just so perfect!

Here’s what Donna says:
I colored this card with my Prisma pencils and used Gamsol for blending. I treated myself to some new dies from my Favorite Things and the image is on the new die set called stitched scallop squares. I added a giant button and tied some gold twine from May Arts. The plaid paper is from My Favorite Things Plaid 6×6 pad. The words are from Hero Arts.

Donna West Winter Birthday skating

Isn’t this the sweetest little birthday card? Donna made this and I just love that it’s something out of the ordinary for a birthday. I just love all the details and that she included just a wee bit of the aqua color to show the ice.

Here’s what Donna wrote:
I colored with my Copic markers. My friend gave me the Snowflake banner for Christmas and I couldn’t wait to use it on this little card. I also used a Mama Elephant die for the snow drift and I popped that up. The words are from stamp set I had in my stash. I used some Lawn Fawn Sparkle twine for the bow.

Donna West - Where the milk and cookies

Here’s a wonderful Christmas card from Donna West. She’s used oodles of textured papers in the background, but even with all that going on the main image on the scalloped circle still shines. I just love her coloring as always.

Donna West - look like christmas

Here’s a fun Christmas card made by Donna West. The background paper she chose was just perfect for this stamp “getting the family tree”. She’s colored everything in with her Copic markers which I love. She said too that she added a little liquid Applique for the snow (brrrrrr) then a little Stickles for sparkle. I think framing the card in a dark color and repeating that for the sentiment banner really ties everything together. The addition of the little bit of cellophane fluff at the top is just great.

Donna West - not a creature stirring

Isn’t this a lovely Christmas card? It was made by Donna West and I just love the way she’s put everything together. She said she colored the images in with her Copic markers. I think the background stripe really brings out the red and white candy canes that Mouse and Kitty look so snuggly with. She added the perfect little poinsettia flower with a hint of green only from the leaves. Adding a wee bow and two red bits of bling finish it right off.

Donna West - grumpy witch

Looks like little Matilda’s not so happy! Isn’t this a fun, scary card from Donna. She used quite a bit of dark – the black, the deep purple but the way she colored in her images really makes them stand out. All of her shading and highlights – and then all those little eyes on the spiders – oh my! I love the green goo coming out of the bottom of the card and the cute little monster with the BIG google eyes – BOO!

Donna West - haunted house

Here’s another version of the Haunted House stamp, this one from Donna West. The muted colors and yellow in the windows make the card look so warm and not too scary. I believe she used watercolor pencils to color everything in. She added a few embellishments including a cute little ghost in the corner – maybe he’s part of the welcoming committee. :)
