Post 3: California hasn’t had any real rain in so long that I’d almost wondered what it looked like. But this year we’ve gotten LOTS!

I once again applied gesso to the entire page and started building my background with layers. The little kids and their pets are actually from Christmas stamps. I stamped and cut them out and then added them to the windows. The droplets were made Glossy Accents and then I painted over them a bit with acrylic paint.

Post 2: As many of you know I’m an animal person. With four cats and three dogs my house is full!

I once again applied gesso to the entire page and started building my background with layers. I love washi tape and used it to create the flag banner and there are little bits in the background. The letters I stamped, they were a set I picked up at Michaels. Once everything was completely dry I added a little bit of pen work with a black marker. My pets make me very happy.

Post 1: For the next 6 posts I’ll be sharing a little book project. I was at the craft store quite awhile back and I don’t know about you but sometimes I purchase something because I love it and then it takes awhile to figure out what I’m going to do. Well such was the case with this little house book. I pulled it out a number of times but nothing came to me.

And then poof. I applied gesso to the entire page and started building my background with layers. I always have scraps of this and that and so I decided to use a few. The letters were cut with a die and the faint white doilies were rub-ons. Once everything was completely dry I added a little bit of pen work with a black marker. Home makes me very happy.

A wonderful card for…well…really…anytime. Lynne created this lovely little card that could be used to brighten someone’s day. I love her use of white space, it really makes all her beautiful coloring stand out. For this card she used her watercolor pencils, added a bit of sparkle and a little clear gloss to Eloise’s handbag, hat ribbons and the bugs wings.

Speaking of happy…stay tuned for some upcoming posts featuring a little happy book. :)

Lynne decided to do this really colorful background using a bit of Brushos. Have you heard of these? They are dry powered paints that you sprinkle on and then wet with a squirt of water. You never know exactly what it will look like which is part of the beauty. She stamped the Row of pine trees over the color background and used her watercolor pencils. She stamped Webster separately and used dimensional to pop him off the background. A few enamel dots and the card was complete.

I just love the little snippets of life Alex creates. Spring is in the air and Mrs. McTwitter is out for a walk with her little dog Tootsie. Alex always adds so many details making her scenes so complete. She’s added little bugs flying around and would you believe actual leafy material (she said she got it from her dad’s train layout). I hope he’s not missing it!

For this adorable little Hoppy Easter card Lynne used two bunny stamps. She colored everything with watercolor pencils and added several layers of clear sparkle to the Easter egg. The faint little clouds were chalked in the background and the finishing touch – some pink splatters and a sweet little bow.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter.

Here’s a stackably fun card made by Alex. She used lots of different animals – cat, dog, bear, even a little ant and said that maybe they wouldn’t usually go together but here they are playing nicely together.

I always love seeing what Alex creates. I don’t think there is ever a dull moment in her imagination.
