Lori Barnett - Skating on Ice

Here’s a wonderfully sweet little card by Lori Barnett. I love that she’s chosen to stamp the background in gray and little Lucy in black – it really makes her stand out. It’s also a great way to create a scallop card (I think I could add scallops to everything) but making it square so you can stand it up.

Here’s what Lori wrote:
Ice Skating is so much fun! I’m sure Lucy will be spinning around on her new skates in no time. What a fun day playing in the snow! It’s hard to see in the picture, but I used clear embossing powder to create a nice shinny and smooth bed of “ice” for Lucy to skate on. There’s also sparkly crystal glitter on the snow dots and patches of glitter under the trees. I used the masking technique to stamp the trees behind Lucy. Coloring was done with markers.

Eat Cake Graphics stamps used:
1186-F Lucy’s learning to skate
7074-F Snow dots
9052-C Tiny tree with dots

So cute! Clever use of the clear embossing powder and dotted paper to tie in with the snow – great job, Lori!
