Patti Gilliam main squeeze

I’m sharing a wonderful birthday card that customer Patti Gilliam made for her very own Main Squeeze (thank you so much for letting me share it). I love the hot pink and bright blue she chose – it makes the whole card so cheery. Continuing that same blue in all the frames just pulled everything together. I also thought how fun to include a calendar as part of the background to mark a special occasion.

I do hope her hubby loved his card!

Paula Downs A room full of kitties

Here’s another wonderful card from customer Paula Downs in Scotland. I seriously don’t think any more kitties could have fit! I just love this love card and all those happy kitties. Kind of reminds me of one of the chairs here at home that everything furry seems to be drawn too.

Paula wrote:
All the kitties (and Toots the mouse) have been watercoloured using Tim Holtz Distress Re-inkers. I stamped the word “relax” using an alphabet stamp I had in my stash, and added some photo corners too.

The carpet Marmie is lying on is a piece of vintage co’redinations cardstock and the wallpaper and comfy chair were Nit-Wit Petal Fresh paper pad collection.  The chair cover has been punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.

Thanks so very much for sharing another card Paula!

Paula Downs Holly and Kitty Woogums

Today I’m showing you a wonderful card sent in by great customer Paula Downs. She’s all the way from Scotland! She said that she’s always had a soft spot for Holly and Kitty Woogums (amongst some others too).

Paula wrote:
This card I used Kraft Card and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I masked the stamp before adding the magical flowers in the background. The sky was inked/stippled with Tim Holtz Distress ink – one of the newest colours Mermaid Lagoon.

I just love the way light colors pop off of the kraft colored paper and all the texture with the white is just wonderful.

Thanks Paula for sharing your card!

For this card Alex chose both big Magical flowers stamps and they fit perfectly together. She said her mom called and needed a card quickly (by THAT day). Alex has always loved these flowers so she decided to use them for this flowery birthday scene. She chose cheery colors and just framed everything with a little bit of sponged blue. I think you could use this idea for lots of different things, it just such a happy place.

A completely wonderful summer scene from Alex! I never get enough of her snapshots in time. This one focuses on relaxing in the water. I love the fact that she not only did a whole line of kids and grown-ups floating on top of the water, but she included something fun under water too. I think I might have to get a lesson on how she does her sky, they always look so nice with the hint of clouds. She chose bright pops of color and even added google eyes to a couple of the floaties.

Lori Barnett The sky is the limit

Look at this fabulous card from Lori! She says: Who’s ready for an adventure? Penelope and Percy the Kitty are headed out in style. What a great way to soar through the sky…in a flying fish! LOL! I’m sure wherever they’re going, they are gonna have a blast. Coloring this image is so easy, not to mention fun! I can’t wait to create another card with this stamp. The ideas are endless!Lori Barnett The sky is the limit details

I just love all the details and the bright orange fish against the blue sky just pops off the page – literally, she cut it out and mounted it so it really looks like everyone is flying. The clouds, sequins, shimmer over the fish and the goggles with glossy accents make this card just grand!

Lori Barnett Birthday Balloons

Lori said, “Everyone loves balloons…especially on their birthday! These sparkly and colorful balloons are watercolored using a shimmer spray and Spectrum Aqua Markers. They are so much fun to color!  The Happy Birthday Typewriter Text sentiment is simple and classic. By stamping and embossing 3 sentiment strips, it creates balance with texture and interest.”

Lori Barnett Birthday Balloons details

I think this card is so fun! And all she used was balloons. I always think I have to put something with a balloon, but clearly they can stand alone. Lori choose colors that really pop off the page – especially one of my personal favorites…ORANGE! Wonderful as always!

Donna West Having Fun

Here’s a totally fun and adorable scene sent in by Donna. She said she has an annual trip to Disneyland with her grandsons – 5 of them! She said that it’s quite an adventure. This image looks like Lewis and Trudy are up for a Disneyland adventure too!

I just love the layered hills, so cheery and the pop of red in the car and her little arrow sign are just great. I believe she actually stamped the car and then cut a little bit around the wheels so the grass would just fit under them. She topped it off with a fun sentiment and some twine.

Donna West Its your birthday

Here’s a too cute birthday card sent in by Donna. She says she just loves this lil guy! I love how she used him. I never thought to having him floating by on the string of a balloon.

And here’s what she did:
I stamped Rowley dog and the balloon on a piece of white card stock and used a die for the top part (by Mama Elephant). I adhered this piece to the front of the clear card. I cut a second piece of card stock for the inside and sandwiched the clear card front in between the two.

Donna used her Copic markers to color everything in. She drew in the string and added a wee bit of sparkle to the balloon. Stinkin’ cute!!! (I hope you don’t mind me saying this.)

Here’s a wonderfully playful scene from Alex! Samson is sneaking through the grass and BOO! I always love Alex’s scenes – all the details – she actually masked off those blades of grass that Samson is sneaking through! Patience, lots of patience.

And here’s a closeup of the firefly – she added sparkle and a google eye!

Alex said that she had this idea many, many years ago. She actually said it reminded her of her and her husband – for almost 20 years he’ll surprise her with a boo and make her jump. Hopefully after all these years she has gotten at least one boo in herself.
