Holly - Christmas book - Page 7 - Dec 26

I included this page because, well, Santa is happy. Everything is done and he is happy.

The alphabet is by Purple Onion Designs. The numbers were a die from Sizzix, as was the garland along the top.

Holly - Christmas book - Page 5 - In the air

It’s a little chilly out there! For this page I actually created the background and then glued doilies  down for the snowy hills. I then added some snow texture which ended up covering most of them.

I glued down the little kids and then added more snow texture.

Holly - Christmas book - Page 4 - Home for Holidays

For page 4 I decided to try something a little different. I knew I wanted the sleigh to stand out more, so I actually stamped the winter neighborhood on tissue paper and then put it on the background. I added a little bit of color on the houses and stamped some silver snowflakes.

For the finishing touch I added some snow texture under the sleigh and some bling on the “Home for Holidays” sentiment.

Holly - Christmas book - Page 3 - Look like Christmas

On this page I knew I wanted to use some of these big snowflakes. I stamped everything on Bristol paper, colored and cut it out. I glued it all to the background.

I added a little detail using glitter and some white enamel – I think it’s by Ranger and comes in black and white – that’s what those little dots are.

Holly - Christmas book - Page 2 - Sing Hey

Here’s page 2. The snowflake die cut along the top is from Memory Box (I just love their dies).

For this page I got one of those pens that looks like snow. You can kind of see it on Santa’s hat – I colored it with the white, let it dry and then took a heat gun to it. It fluffs up like snow. Well that’s the theory anyway. :)

Holly - Christmas book - Page 1 - Let the Madness Begin

I made a little Christmas book and thought I would share it. Here is page one. The book itself is from Maya Road – just one of their chipboard books. I gesso’d each “page” in white and then added backgrounds with distress inks, paints, stamps – pretty much whatever caught my fancy. For all of the pages I stamped the images on white Bristol paper, added color and then cut them out.

For the final touch I added details with a black pen, crystals, some glitter and a wee bit of washi tape.

Holly - Christmas box

Today I’m showing you a little box I created with the We R Memory Keepers – Gift Box Punch Board. The box measures about 4x4x4 inches and was made using a 12 inch piece of paper. I decided I’d make the green band to go around it so I could add a little something extra. :)

Here’s a little close up of the band.

And here’s a picture of the board.

Holly - penguin treat box

As promised, here’s another project using the Brenda Walton Shadow box Sizzix die. This time I cut out the boxes and added some plastic to the front. I stamped the little penguins, cut them out and glued them to the front of the boxes. I thought a little “outside the box” with my penguin color choice. :) I filled them with little Hershey’s chocolates – YUM! I know I’m going to have to use this die again at Valentine’s!

Holly = Snowman box

A little early Christmas treat, I purchased a new Sizzix die (new to me, I’m not actually sure when it was released), Brenda Walton’s Shadow Box. I made a snowman diorama, which is actually small enough that it’d be the cutest little ornament on the Christmas tree.

Here’s what the die actually looks like – you’ll notice I didn’t use all the pieces it comes with, only the box piece on the right.

Here’s a little side detail of the box. I cut the box out, added the background hill of snow and a couple of trees. I stamped the snowman, cut him out and then glue him in. I closed the box and added the little flags using a piece of thread.

In my next post you’ll see another project using this same die.
