janis-celebrate-life-smJanis sent in this wonderful little card. She said “I know the main stamp is supposed to be used in a different angle like lying on the floor…but it seems to me the girl is just sitting with a little puppy which was leaning on her feet.” I just love this little project – the way she created the background gives it a sweet yet artsy feel. I also love the little chicks next to the little radio – I think they might be doing a little dance. So cute Janis!

maria-totheworld-smI love this image, so much so that I actually made it into a quilt. So when Maria ordered it to use in a sample I couldn’t wait to see what she’d do. I think it’s just lovely. The sweet colors she used to color in the image are bright but soft. Her choice of patterned pattern is just perfect too. The top one has sweet little vines of green running throughout and finishing it with a big green bow – who wouldn’t love to receive this in their mailbox.

amanda-abundance-smThis card sent in by Amanda is all a-flutter with Springtime happiness! I love the way she colored the image in and the way she framed it with the green paper. Her embellishments are just fabulous – I never would think to add a bow that big but it’s just perfect!!

kelly-sparky-smIn this card Kelly used a little stamp, but by adding a dark frame around it gave it the presence of something much bigger. I love the little doggy bone in the background paper and then using the bright red/orange down the side with the heart and twine was just great!!

sandy-penelope-smSandy sent in the cutest birthday card! I love her layers of green and the fact that she used a big piece of ribbon behind the main image to give it some dimension. The colors she chose to color the main image are so bright and cheery – and love the dots on the fish! Finishing it off with the pop of orange was a terrific choice AND using just “hbd” instead of spelling everything out gives it that modern, texting touch.

amanda-handbag-smAnother lovely card by Amanda. I think the doily type background she used to stamp the image on is just wonderful. It reminds me of tea time and cake (or chocolates). I love that she gave her a patterned dress and the little flower embellishments are so sweet.

barbara-happybirthday-smBarb did a great job with this birthday card. I think it shows that by simply using one stamp over and over again you can really make a big statement. Her layers and color choices are terrific – the pop of orange really makes the card. Tying it off with a piece of colored twine just finishes it perfectly.

heike-carrots-smHeike sent in this cute little bunny card. She said when she saw this stamp it reminded her of how fisherman show the size of the fish caught (or maybe that got away). Now that I look at Brewster bunny he does seem to be doing that. :)

I love her use of the light colored clouds as a background and then the the popping out one that has the sentiment. I also love her little flowers with brad centers – very cute!

celine-cat-thoughts-smMarmie kitty  reminded Celine of her beloved cat, Kalamazoo, who believed she was the center of the universe. Much like the cat depicted here, she was not a deep thinker, lived to be served, and enjoyed a long nap more than just about anything else.

She stamped the various elements onto different colors and textures of paper, then colored with Prismacolors where needed.  The window is actually a stamp with a bunch of kitties in the window that she cut off so that she could add snow falling outside. The thought balloon is a standard shape in PhotoShop Elements that was sized to fit the cat, then cut out and stamped.  The flooring is scrapbooking paper.  Images were cut out and arranged to fit on a standard 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 card and then glued down.  Celine added a cardstock border in sage to finish the piece.

Seeing her card brought back some lovely memories. When I drew this image originally my kitty Marmie was the inspiration. I found this photo of her…

Thank you Celine.

amanda-unselfish-smAmanda really does a lovely job of using layers. With just one stamp she’s created a beautifully sweet card. She used black once again to frame all the layers. I love that she added the blue shading on the frame with the stamped image. I think it’s the little touches that people add to cards that make them so big!
