Merry Everything
Filed Under Animals, DT: Meg C. | 2 Comments
I love the patterned paper animals that Meg did for this card. And what a fun way to use scraps of paper too!
Here’s what Meg did:
- Stamp “All the Animals Stacked Up” on October Afternoon and Stampin’ Up patterned paper and heat embossed with black (makes it a bit easier to see on the patterned paper and to cut out).
- I stamped the entire image onto Papertrey Ink Ripe Avocado and cut it out, leaving a small border and adhered each animal using Xyron adhesive.
- I stamped the message (also from ECG) onto some kraft and added some Peeled Paint distress ink.
- The whole stack was popped up with dimensionals onto some Echo Park Christmas paper, bordered with Ripe Avocado and kraft.

Sweaters for Christmas (post it holders)
Filed Under DT: Jinah N., Holiday: Christmas, Other projects | 1 Comment
This is the cutest little project. Jinah created post-it note holders. She actually used just one stamp and cut the images apart. If you need a cute little anytime gift this would be perfect.
She started with patterned papers for the covers and then used watercolors to color everything in. She added bits of gloss for accents (see the reindeer’s nose).

Sweaters for Christmas
Filed Under DT: Jinah N., Holiday: Christmas | 1 Comment
Jinah made a little card using just two stamps. Sometimes just stamping on paper and coloring can be so nice.
Tune in tomorrow when we share another post from Jinah using one of these same stamps in a completely different way.

Winter Wonderland project
Filed Under Animals, Bears, Dogs, Holly, Spring, Winter | 7 Comments
I worked on this for quite some time and FINALLY finished. I was inspired by a project that Cathrine over at Paper Garden Projects created last year (I believe).

I started with chipboard shapes and covered each with a different piece of paper. I added snow with some white molding paste and before it dried sprinkled it with glitter. For the ice on the skating pages I used Diamond glaze. I made all the backgrounds first and then added the little kids and such on top. It was a labor of love for sure.

Ornaments
Filed Under DT: Annie F., Holiday: Christmas, Holly, Other projects, Winter | 2 Comments
I think Annie and I had the same idea!
Using a little clear top tin she made this Paw Humbug ornament. She cut everything out, put it inside and before she closed it with a ribbon, added a little bit of snow. :)

In this one, I used Little Cora. I cut out some “hills” and covered them with snow. I put a stick-on snowball in her hand and a few tiny ones in the background.

…and a new squeaky toy…
Filed Under DT: Pam, Holiday: Christmas | 4 Comments
Pam sent in this great Christmas card along with her Tombow marker coloring directions.
I love how it’s three dimensional and her use of traditional red and green. Oh and that big red bow – wow!

Merry Everything (skating bears)
Filed Under Bears, DT: Annie F., Holiday: Christmas, Winter | Leave a Comment
Annie created this lovely snowy scene with a couple of skating bears. It feels vintage to me, like an updated Victorian Christmas card – I think because it’s an oval framed with black and the little pieces of holly.
She said that she colored everything with Copic markers, added glitter glue on the pond and drew the tree. I also asked and she said that the cut out behind the ovals was actually die cut using a Stampin Up Sizzix die.
Oh, and here’s a peek at the inside of the card…

A beautiful card from Georgia. I just love the starry sky and snow capped mountains. She actually created this card earlier this year, for a Simply Scrapping Crafts Paper Scraps Challenge. But it’s so wintery I’m posting it now.

Finding the Right Tree
Filed Under DT: Linda M., Dogs, Winter | 2 Comments
Linda’s been busy! Here’s another card she sent in. I love the distressed, vintage look. And after reading her papery-quilt technique – I certainly want to try this on something!
This is what she wrote:
When I saw Holly’s quilt pattern that matches this stamp, I knew what I wanted to do – make a card like a pieced quilt. So, the only ink in this card is Memento Rich Cocoa – everything else is put together with patterned paper. Yep, I stamped the image no less than ten times on different sheets of patterned and embossed paper. I stamped the dog alone five times on five different shades of gold and brown. BasicGrey paper worked great because there are so many color shades within the same sheet of paper.
Start by stamping the whole image on just a white or beige piece of paper to serve as your guide. You can cut out the pieces you need and assemble the scene onto the white paper from the back of the scene working forward. The little dog is popped up with dimensional adhesive. Then, to keep that homey quilt feel going, you can use scrap gingham fabric for a bow and add lots of crazy sewing. If you’re brave enough to try this, here’s a tip – use liquid adhesive so you can adjust the little pieces easier, and have a good set of tweezers handy.

A Merry Little Christmas
Filed Under Holiday: Christmas, Holly | Leave a Comment

Sometimes I love using little stamps. I have quite a few small toy stamps and have been wanting to use them in a card. I’m really enjoying adding a little stitching to cards lately – especially because I poke the holes and then just follow along. It kind of reminds me when I was a little girl and I used to get those punched sewing cards. As usual I had to add a bit of glitter. :)
