Dagi-03-Stockings-smDagi created this wonderful Christmas card using two stocking stamps, a patterned background and a tiny alphabet.

I love the way she shaded the card, leaving the center lighter to showcase all those stockings. And oh my goodness – they are all cut out and attached to the card! Lovely.

wanda-becky-smWanda created another wonderful wintery card. The papers she chose are just perfect – let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! And the snowflake embellishments – makes me want to stick my tongue out and taste some snow for myself. :)

annie-toad-smAnnie sent in this card – isn’t it just great! I love how she used the set of books and created her own titles. She also added a little bit of glitter to the end of his wand and drew the moon herself.

Boy oh boy does he have some explaining to do!

Ok, so maybe you’ve seen in a previous post that I absolutely love Tim Holtz’s Paper Rosette Sizzix die.

I was at it again making a Thanksgiving card this time. I stamped the background – I put dots of paint and then scribbled over them. I got out my thread and did a little stitch of teal blue. I also used the Stickles – Rock Candy (another Tim Holtz product). Once I learned that this works better when you squirt some on and then rub it around with your finger (as opposed to the other Stickles that you squirt on and let dry) – well, now I want to use it on everything.

If you want to know more you can watch this YouTube video (the first part is about the Rock Candy crackle paint, the second (at about 6 minutes) is the Stickles):

danielle-happy-winter-smDanielle sent in a wonderful winter project. Ethan, Oliver and Jeffrey look like they are having so much fun! She actually cut them out and stuck them on the card so they look like they’re floating down the glittery hill. Happy Winter!

meg-tiltcard-smMeg sent in another project – this time it really moves! Or tilts I should say! Little Ethan and Oliver actually tilt from one side to another. Weeeeeeeeee!!!

Here’s a little detail photo showing them going from side to side:meg-tiltcard-tilted
Here’s what Meg wrote so you can make your own card:

  1. I used Ethan and Oliver snowy saucer fun image, colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out
  2. The dp is Echo Park and the bottom layer is PTI Aqua Mist cardstock, embossed with Cuttlebug snowflake folder, then inked with white ink.
  3. Added some red twine, and the handwritten tag.
  4. The awesomest part….Ethan and Oliver tilt!!!  I used this tutorial from Splitcoaststampers. It’s really easy, and the image is perfect size for it!

It’s getting to be that time of year! Of course not to take away from Fall by any means, but the chill in the air just makes me want snow and hot cocoa. Meg sent in a Christmas card for her next project. Her use of the black background with the burgundy ribbon and dark green for the sentiment really makes this card look elegant – with a whimsical touch of course. :)

Here’s the instructions Meg sent:

  1. I used watercolor crayons and SU markers to paint “Sarah pulls Nicky and Otto”
  2. The green Echo Park DP was cut with Nesties Labels 4 and the sentiment is a K&Co rub-on.
  3. I used Mojo Monday Sketch #163 and made it a larger size card – 5×7.  The brown DP is also Echo Park.
  4. I punched two snowflakes, inked them with PTI Chai, added a button and some twine, and attached it to PTI Scarlet Jewel ribbon.

Jinah created another yummy candy project – this time using Twix bars. I think I would eat a lot less candy if the wrappers all looked at good as these.

I could see this project being fun for a little treat at Thanksgiving or even a stocking treat for Christmas!

Can’t you just feel the light of the full moon on this card. Dagi sent in this wonderful scene featuring Stuart and puppy Scooter in their flying box.

She sent a note along with the card that I thought needed sharing (with her permission of course).

This card was inspired by life and sometimes having to keep believing in yourself and in your dreams. She’s been trying to become a teacher in Germany. After years at university she’s finished her exams, with top scores, but finding a full time position is difficult. I think a lot of people might be able to relate to this in one way or another. It can be frustrating but she says she just has to keep believing in her dreams. I think that is so true…hard sometimes…but very true. Thank you for sharing Dagi and for such a lovely reminder. :)

As for the card techniques, she says that she didn’t do anything special – although I find that hard to believe. :) Nothing more than a bit of masking and positioning and then coloring with distress inks. The tiny alphabet she used to create her saying is from Stampendous.

I was simply blown away when these pictures from Moon arrived in my inbox. She’s actually created her own little Abagail – complete with a plate and crumbs! She said that while she was waiting to hear who the members of the new design team were she created little Abagail – which by the way was her very first Eat Cake Graphics stamp. And she added, now that she’s around she has to keep an eye on all of her cookies! Too cute!!
